So, I'm somewhat verbose (surprise!) on a technical forum for some of the things that pay my bills.
People seem to take this as a sign that I'm going ot provide them individualized, personalized, help for free.
This particular forum is a php based thingy, so it has a private messaging feature.
Some people will actually post the exact same thing they just put in the public forums as a private message to me.
On one occasion, a gentleman informed me via private message that if I didn't provide him the information I had pointedly not given him publicly, that he would lose his job.
