This sounds suspiciously like another one of those "we do the work for you" deals.

:-)

In this case, though, it's a win-win.

If everyone else starts threads, and gets their friends to start threads, then everyone else will be entertained.

Not just me.

I support this mission. I just got mod points and have next to nothing to use them on.

Of course, if I start a thread, I can't moderate on it.

And now that I've commented on this thread, I can't moderate on it either.

D'oh.

The mission sounds fine to me. I've had this karma of 5 since I went Premium back in June. But maybe you old-timers can tell me: is it better to build up a karma buffer before starting new threads?

Well, since I just got modded down as incoherent for my post above, I can tell you that a karma buffer is never a bad thing. But remember that the opening to a thread can't be moderated. So if someone dislikes your thread, you're still safe.

[And really now--incoherent? It was certainly pathetic, and perhaps a bit stupid, but in what way was it incoherent?]

Moderation (but only within reason!) (Score: 1, Incoherent)

In Response to Llamarama (#29766):

Your post was not incoherent. In fact, i tried to mark it "Pathetic". But then i think i made an error. I clicked on the drop-down moderation-menu and made my selection. Then i probably pressed the "end" button on my keyboard, because i wished to scroll to the end of the page in order to hit the "Moderate" button.

Unfortunately, i believe the usage of the "end" button was actually applied to the drop-down menu instead. This caused the menu to scroll to the final item, which happens to be "Incoherent". I thought that i had gone back and re-adjusted the selection before hitting the "Moderate" button, but apparently i did not succeed in my attempt to make this correction.

After realizing my mistake (i'd like to blame the software, or the keyboard, or anything else, but hey-- i'll admit that i do stupid shit accidentally) i tried to go back and moderate your comment again, intending to fix the situation with an "Underrated" mod, or something to that effect. However, i do not appear to be able to make any further moderations to any of the comments which i have already tainted.

Lacking any obvious ability to correct the situation, i have chosen this tactic instead. By posting a comment in this thread, all mod points i bestowed are nullified henceforth. Unfortunately, this means that my faery-kissies to Deerboy and Zamphir have also evaporated. Because they are both yummy Citrus already, i figured it wasn't a big deal if "they took one for the team". Nevertheless, i went to some other threads and gave them some up-mods over yonder.

Do not drive, operate machinery or engage in activities requiring alertness while taking this medication. Dizziness, drowsiness, irritability, mood change, difficulty concentrating, distorted vision, and dry mouth may occur. Notify your doctor if you develop: rapid heart rate, sleep disturbances, memory loss, mental confusion, or hallucinations. Be aware that this medication may cause mood or behavior changes. If you experience any such effects, remain calm. Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication since the risk of side effects will be increased.

That's not quite the same excuse as "i was drunk!", but it's the truth. And i think it's way more fun. Now, if i could just figure out what the heck Sakuruth was talking about when she mentioned "the added bonus of fun latex toys for me to take home afterwards [goats.com]", all would be swell.

Crap! October is half over, and i haven't fulfilled the mission. Thank goodness there are so many other industrious people who keep the world running every day, while i'm drifting off into my NeverNeverMind.

1. Sorry, I mis-moderated your post by hitting the end key at an inappropriate time. I've posted this to make things right.

2. I was on drugs!

3. I like latex toys.

4. Post more.

Well, hey. Thanks, y'all! I mean, I figured that there was some chance that whoever moderated me incoherent there was going to moderate this last post even moreso. But not only did Tele explain and undo the downmod, but others have modded me up! And in the process, I've gone from being a lowly Junior Birdllama (or something) to an Advanced Pedant. A great honor and a great responsibility.

So, um, thanks!

Hell, let's face it, we're not responsible for anything; including the things we say, do, or think. And if you sue us because you think we are? Well, we're not responsible for that either.
