Christmas gift?
posted Sunday, December 25, 2005 - 07:01 PM (#31097)
So I just logged on to find that my karma had doubled! I've achieved citrus status. Is this a special Christmas present? Or Chanukah, since it's after sundown?

actually, first I slashed your (and others) karma to 12. then not knowing what they were supposed to be, I figured I was less likely to get yelled at while in NZ if I just upped people a whole bunch than if I left them at 12.

Interesting. Before all this, my karma was at 24. So first it got halved, then restored, then doubled. Multiples of 2 seem to rule the day.

Why do I feel oddly naked having said what my karma was? Is that a faux pas?

I don't see how it could be a faux pas... after all, anybody can look at your stats, see your scores, and perform simple arithmetic-- well, almost anybody.

But now that Philip has pointed his rocket launcher at Buddha repeatedly, all the arithmetic may be "flawed"... or perhaps "enhanced" is a better way of viewing it.

of course, that doesn't account for karma earned for MetaMods, etc.

anyone who would prefer to have their karma reverted to a lower number just has to ask, and I'm happy to oblige.

I've long been sentient, but this citric nature takes a bit of getting used to. Acid reflux and all.

At least it might reduce your cholesterol. Unless you're on Lipitor, in which case you might want to consider dropping back to supervillainy.

dropping back to supervillainy

Ah, but see the start of this thread. I can't drop BACK to supervillainy--it would be a new experience!

Whoops, right, it was a poor choice of words.

In any case, I never did congratulate you, and thus do so now. You are well deserving of Phillip's largesse.

Congratulations are out also to Robonun, who achieved citrusy sentience sometime earlier this month by the usual method, I think.
