A Slight Pause

Monday, September 28, 2009 - 09:14 AM

Howdy all. I'm coming up against my deadline for delivering Book 3 to my publisher, and there's a few things still left to do. Rather than try and crap out a strip for you while I'm scrabbling with that I'm going to focus on finishing the book and getting that done so I'm not distracted from the task of making the best comics I can.

So, no strip for Monday, and probably Wednesday (although maybe a guest MG strip?), but I'll do my best to be back on track for Friday. Sorry for the disruption of service, and I hope to be back in front of the Cintiq very soon.

UPDATE: Taking over the stripping duties for the time being is none other than our very own Brock Stalkley! Brock will be honoring us with his comicking efforts, entitled TEH NERDZORS minis and starring Brock and his roommate, Scott the Miniature Elephant.

TEH NERDZORS minis is the sequel to MEGAgamerz and the prequel to Goats. Scholars are still debating whether or not it is canon.

I have a plan for interrim material! Brock is going to fill in as guest artist.

I never realized a real publisher had such strict deadlines. Book 2 isn't out yet but they want #3 already?
Or are you just cleaning up the strips, artwork, filling in gaps, etc.?

In Response to Rich (#49526):

There's a lot that goes on between delivery and getting it to the stores -- copyediting, marketing, legal checks, printing, shipping, warehousing, redistribution, etc. It's totally reasonable to want files many months before it hits stores.

I don't want to see Brock Stalkley stripping.

Drawing the comics, though, sure, these aren't bad.

I wouldn't mind if Brock's works were featured slightly more often. I think we have seen but the faintest outline of his verdant potential, the barest tip of his nutritious iceburg. With ice dwindling to the point that its precense is nearly a spiritual phemonenon for some, such glaciers should be praised and glorified when they are found.

Not to downplay the magnificience of the grander, regular bovid storyline and its various devils and publicans of course. Brock is just so cool!
